Marseil turns your documents into an agent you can embed on any website.

Create an Organization

Start here. You’ll be asked to create an organization when you log in for the first time. An organization holds multiple projects, and each project is one agent.

Create a Project

After creating your organization, you’ll create your first project. Pick a name and you’re done. You’ll land on the project analytics page.

Upload Documents

• Go to Knowledge Base and click Add data source.
• Pick a source type: Web, Text, or Files.
• For websites: enter the URL, toggle Load all paths to crawl subpages, and optionally add paths to skip. Click Scan Website.
• Deselect any pages you don’t want, then click Index Pages.
• Indexing takes a few minutes depending on how big the site is. You can navigate away and come back later. Once it says Indexed, you’re good to go.

Talk to Your Docs

• Once your documents are indexed, the agent is ready to answer questions.
• Open the project and go to Chat with Agent in the sidebar.
• To put the agent on your website, go to Customize Agent and hit the Embed button to grab the script tag.
• The Share button copies a public chat link you can send to anyone.

Update Documents

• Got new pages or changed some content? Go to Knowledge Base, click the dropdown on the document, and pick Refresh document. That takes you back to the same form so you can rescan and reindex.

API & Rate Limits

If you’re using the Marseil API or embed widget:

• Authentication: Endpoints like /api/v1/chat and /api/v1/endConversation need your Project API Key in the Authorization header. Keys are hashed in the database.
• Rate Limiting: Chat endpoints are rate limited per project.
• Billing: Unused credits don’t roll over. They reset at the start of each billing cycle to match your plan’s allowance.
